What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to increase the size of our team of Examination Invigilators, scribes and readers in our school. We are aiming to build a regular team to work on an ad-hoc basis.

You will be working with a dedicated team, supervising pupils taking both mock and GCSE exams (predominantly October, November, February, May, June). Responsibilities could include setting up the exam rooms, ensuring pupils receive the appropriate question and answer papers and that the rigorous procedures are followed throughout. Those undertaking the role of Scribe will be producing accurate, verbatim transcripts of answers dictated by pupils. For the Reader, responsibilities will be to read exam instructions and questions aloud, accurately and clearly.

We are looking for reliable, calm and committed people who can demonstrate common sense, accuracy, attention to detail, and are willing to provide the best exam experience possible for students. Applications are welcome from people with experience, but training will be provided. Applicants should have a calm, authoritative manner with a ‘natural presence’. Our invigilators are responsible for ensuring that exams are run according to JCQ regulations. An enhanced DBS check will be required.

What the school offers its staff
