What skills and experience we're looking for
Millthorpe School are seeking to recruit Exam Invigilators, as soon as possible, to join our existing, well-established team.
Working as a team, our Invigilators ensure a calm environment is provided for our students to help them perform at their best. Invigilators will help to make sure the right students are in the right places, provide vital information and ensure that students have all materials and information needed for each exam to ensure examination board rules are adhered to. Exams can be amongst the most important and stressful events for our students; it is therefore essential that they are conducted in the right way and our Invigilators are crucial to this process.
Exam Invigilators work on a casual (as and when needed) basis, with their peak periods of work during May and June each year. Other periods of work are during November and January. With this in mind, we would like to appoint our Invigilators as soon as possible, but we can be flexible on start dates. As this position does not lead to a regular working pattern, we find it suits people best who are looking for something extra to fit around existing commitments. Ideally you will be able to commit to a minimum of three days work in any given week.
Whilst experience of exam invigilation, and/or working in a secondary school environment would be helpful, it is not essential as full training will be given.
Further details about our school are available on our school website: https://millthorpeschool.co.uk/
An application form, job description and person specification are available from the Trust website https://southbanktrust.co.uk/careers/
Please email applications to recruitment@southbanktrust.co.uk for the attention of Gemma Greenhalgh.
What the school offers its staff
Millthorpe is a popular and successful school rooted in its community close to the heart of the historic city of York. You will be joining a warm, inclusive and motivated team of over 100 colleagues.
