Exam Invigilator job summary

Exam Invigilator

The Ravensbourne School

Join a school where ambition meets excellence. At The Ravensbourne School, we are proud to be a forward-thinking, thriving community that places learning, inclusion, and integrity at the heart of everything we do.

We are seeking reliable and professional Exam Invigilators to support the smooth running of public and internal examinations. This is a key role for calm, organised individuals who are committed to upholding exam standards and supporting student success. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team, helping to create a secure and focused environment during exam periods.

This is more than a casual role - it’s a chance to make a meaningful contribution to students’ academic journeys. You’ll be joining a school that values teamwork, precision, and continuous improvement, and where your attention to detail and professionalism will make a real difference.

We value the difference in all of our schools while seeking to bring them together around a framework that delivers an enriching experience and a great education for the young people within our care. Our shared values of trust, kindness, and endeavour underpin everything we do.

Our leaders create improvement in schools that is robust and sustainable. We are as enthusiastic about developing and nurturing our staff as we are about developing our young people. Our professional development programmes and approach to school improvement provide quality and rigour while creating a depth of experience and learning for our staff.

Are you available on a part-time or ad hoc basis?
Maybe you have a few spare hours around your studies or another job?

We are looking to expand our pool of casual invigilators to work within the Examinations Office and join our friendly team in the running of all public and internal examinations throughout the academic year.

These opportunities are ideally suited to applicants who are:

  • Highly organised, vigilant, and reliable
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Able to remain calm under pressure
  • Flexible and available at short notice

Duties include:

  • Supervising students during exams
  • Supporting clash candidates between exam sittings
  • Preparing exam rooms
  • Distributing and collecting papers in line with JCQ regulations

Full training will be provided. This is a casual contract with hours agreed for each exam period. The role offers £12.50 per hour, with interviews conducted on a rolling basis. Successful candidates will join us as soon as possible on an ad-hoc basis.

If you are dependable, flexible, and ready to support students during a crucial time in their education, we’d love to hear from you.
