At Okehampton College our simple aim is nothing more, and nothing less, than for all our students to leave us as highly qualified, personable, articulate, and socially responsible young citizens, ready to lead happy and enriching lives.
We are a vibrant academy, serving students aged 11-19, set on the edge of beautiful Dartmoor. We are rooted in the community we serve, and committed to the development of our students’ character, as well as their academic achievement. This is underpinned by our inclusive ethos and through our CORE values of Community, Opportunity, Respect and Equity. We strive to embed these values in how we treat each other and work together.
We have high expectations and believe that excellence cannot be achieved without equity. As a member of the Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust family of schools, we seek to transform the life chances of all our students, irrespective of their background, aiming for all our students to grow, intellectually and emotionally, in a safe, supportive, and inspiring learning environment.
The high educational ambitions we have of our students are driven by a broad and balanced, knowledge-rich curriculum, from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5. We offer more than 30 GCSE and vocational qualifications, and 30 A-level and Post-16 vocational qualifications, alongside a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities.
