This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring that students with approved access arrangements are able to demonstrate their knowledge and skills fairly during examinations and assessments. Working under the guidance of the SENDCo and Examinations Officer, you will provide essential support that enables students to access exams in line with Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations.
The successful candidate will become part of a highly collaborative team with individuals that have experience across a wide variety of sectors. The role brings with it a fair degree of flexibility to allow other commitments to be maintained alongside the work. That said, during key examination periods it is very helpful to have high levels of availability.
This role offers the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on the educational experiences of young people. You will work one-to-one with students who have approved access arrangements, acting as a reader and/or scribe during examinations and controlled assessments. The role requires professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality and a thorough understanding of examination regulations. Full training and guidance will be provided, including regular updates on JCQ requirements.
At Finham Park School, we believe that every student should have the opportunity to demonstrate their true abilities. Through high-quality support, careful planning and a commitment to inclusive practice, we aim to ensure that students with additional needs are able to access examinations fairly and confidently. We are seeking individuals who are patient, dependable and able to build positive working relationships with young people. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. An understanding of inclusion and the barriers some students face in accessing examinations would be highly advantageous. The ability to remain calm under pressure, follow regulations meticulously and act with professionalism at all times is essential.
If you are passionate about supporting young people, enjoy working as part of a professional team and would like to contribute to an inclusive examination experience for all students, we would be delighted to hear from you.
