Examinations and Cover Manager job summary

Reepham High School & College is an 11-18 comprehensive school, only half an hour away from Norwich city centre. It has over 800 pupils in the main school and 240 students in the Sixth Form College. The school serves a very wide catchment area of nearly 400 square kilometres and 85% of our young people travel by bus.

We seek to appoint a full-time Examinations & Cover Manager at Reepham High School and College.

The position involves the effective management of examinations and assessments, following JCQ regulations throughout the school and college. The post holder will ensure that policies and procedures are followed, exam board deadlines are met and organise logistics and arrangements for examinations, managing the examinations budget and managing a team of invigilators.

Outside of the formal examination season the post holder will be responsible for the organisation, forward planning and management of the school’s cover arrangements on a daily basis, including the timely organisation of agency supply staff and the deployment and daily briefing of cover supervisors.

Working pattern in order to incorporate cover would be Monday to Thursday 7.15 a.m. to 3.15 p.m., and Friday 7.15 a.m. to 2.45 p.m.

This position will have a start date of 1st September 2024, however an earlier start would be considered.

Desirable knowledge & skills;

Previous experience of working within a school environment and within an exams office.

Knowledge of the JCQ regulations and working practices.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to support colleagues, pupils, students and parents.

Flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Meticulous with excellent attention to detail.

Experience of leading and co-ordinating a team.

Ability to support within the wider school administration team.

Sound knowledge of Microsoft 365.

Knowledge of Arbor would be an advantage however training will be available.
