Examinations Officer job summary

Your core responsibilities will include coordinating examination timetables, ensuring robust invigilation procedures, and managing the logistical requirements for access arrangements and special educational needs. In leading the invigilation team, you will be responsible for recruitment, induction and training, ensuring that all processes meet the highest standards of examination compliance and best practice. The role also requires regular liaison with awarding bodies and teaching staff across the School.

This position plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity and security of the examination process. Applicants will be required to disclose any prior invigilation experience and confirm whether they are subject to any current sanctions relating to malpractice or maladministration.

The postholder must be available throughout formal examination periods, as well as during mid-to-late August to support results processing and any subsequent reviews or appeals.

We are seeking an individual with experience of managing or supporting examinations within an educational environment, alongside strong data-handling capability. You will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with young people. A calm, patient approach is essential, as is confidence in giving clear guidance and adapting support to meet individual student needs. You will also value contributing to the wider life of a dynamic and engaged school community.
