Exams and Admin Officer job summary

The successful candidate will oversee the smooth running of all aspects of internal and external examinations at the school including organisation and running of the examinations, ensuring compliance with school and examination board policy as well as overseeing a team of invigilators. The role also involves providing excellent administrative support, undertaking a variety of tasks, under the guidance of the Business Manager. You don’t necessarily have to have a degree or hold a specific qualification, and you don’t have to have worked in schools. What matters most is that you are someone who has a high level of efficiency to run pre-defined processes, can expertly use computerised administrative systems and has excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills due to the high levels of interaction with our students and staff. Candidates must have a strong background in organisation and administrative diligence. Applicants must have an appetite to develop and learn, with a positive and proactive approach to work. The school specific systems are likely to be something the successful candidate will need to learn, but already having strong administrative skills and a proactive approach to work, this should not be a problem. Working for St Anne’s means that you would be part of the Cranmer Education Trust, a successful, growing Trust which prides itself on looking after its people, a high level of support and access to expertise. This is an excellent time to join the team, as we develop collaborative structures and systems to enhance and support our growing Schools Trust. Alongside St Anne’s CE Academy, the Trust is made up of The Blue Coat School which is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ school, two primary schools – East Crompton St George’s and Mayfield Primary, both of which have been judged as ‘good’ by Ofsted and Manchester Nexus, our School Centered Initial Teacher Training school. The Trust also incorporates a teacher training school and the East Manchester Teaching Hub; both of which support the training and development of new and existing teachers across the North West of England. We will also be opening a new secondary school in Oldham in 2022 for 1,200 pupils, The Brian Clarke CE Academy. For further details please visit https://careers.cranmereducationtrust.com/ This position will be based at St Anne’s Academy, Middleton, but may from time to time require travel as necessary to collaborate with other schools which are all locally based. We offer: • Opportunities for professional development in a growing Trust • LGPS career average pension scheme including life insurance and dependent's pension • Generous holiday entitlement and sick pay scheme, increasing with length of service • A very convenient location with motorway networks (a 2 minute drive from Junction 19 of the M62), buses and trams close by. St Anne’s Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The Cranmer Education Trust follows safer recruitment practices. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975,2013 and 2020 and appointment is therefore subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service. For further information please refer to: • the Cranmer Education Trust’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy Trust Policies | Cranmer Education Trust. • The Trust’s statement on the employment of ex-offenders, in the job details’ documents section. • The job description and person specification for further information regarding the safeguarding responsibilities of the role. St Anne's is a secondary 11-16 school in Middleton, Rochdale. Joining the Cranmer Education Trust in 2021, the school is on a rapid improvement trajectory with very exciting things to come being part of the Cranmer Community.

The quality of education is the school's absolute priority and all staff are supported in being part of this through the new structured whole school and faculty led CPD offer which focuses on specific themes such as metacognition and how to use Rosenshine's principles.

The school has made incredible progress with students' online learning and is trailblazing the use of Microsoft Teams, rapidly developing pedagogy so that students continue to be engaged at home as much as at school.

The building is a new build with excellent facilities and grounds. The site is easily accessible in less than one mile from Junction 19 of the M62.

St Anne’s Academy Vision and Values

VISION

The best for everyone, the best from everyone. We have faith in our future.

Values

Aspiration I believe that having high aspirations can motivate me to work hard and achieve my goals without excuses. I have high expectations in everything I do. Aspiration is valuable because it allows me to look beyond my current experiences and to understand, interpret and change the world for the better.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Integrity I believe that living my life by high moral standards and values is important. I understand how values are grounded in faith and biblical teaching. I commit to doing the right thing in all circumstances, even if this makes things more difficult for me and when no one is watching. I take responsibility for myself and my community to help it improve for everyone.

“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely.” Proverbs 10:9a

Respect I believe that mutual respect is the most important element in a kind and cohesive community. Respect, and self-respect, means that I take things seriously. I care about myself and others and aim to do good as I go. Respect is valuable because it allows me to understand the differences in our community and to know how to behave in the best interests of that community.

“Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” Matthew 22:39

Hard work I believe that through hard work I can overcome challenges as I meet them. I am resilient and want to complete every task to the best of my ability. Hard work is valuable because it enables me to be the best I can be and the best I am meant to be. It builds the foundation of experience and learning for my future.

“With God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
