What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an opportunity for an organised individual who works well in a team to join us as an Exams Officer on a temporary basis to provide maternity leave cover from January 2025. It is anticipated that this will be for up to one year. This role provides comprehensive administration of all school-based assessments and external examinations. Based in the school’s Data and Exams team, this role works closely with the Assistant Headteacher to ensure all assessments and examinations run smoothly and in line with statutory requirements.

The actual salary is£24,626 per annum based on working 37 hours over 5 days a week, with 15 additional days to work on school training days and during the school holidays. During the external exams’ seasons, the role holder will need to be available to start work by no later than 8.00 am each day to work with colleagues and invigilators to ensure everything is set up. In addition, for GCSE and A Level results, there is a requirement to work Wednesday to Friday during the two summer results weeks. The salary is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year so even when it is the summer holidays, you continue to receive the same payment that month.
