What skills and experience we're looking for
Our leadership team are seeking to appoint a SENDCO from Easter 2025. We are looking for an experienced, passionate practitioner with a genuine belief in inclusive education and the achievement of all pupils. This belief in inclusive education is central to our Catholic ethos, where every child is welcomed, protected and loved. Whilst we ask you to share our ethos, you do not need to be a practicing Catholic to apply for this post (we have many non-Catholic members of staff). The best candidate will be selected.
What the school offers its staff
The best way to understand our ethos is to come and visit us – we are a two-form entry city school, we have a dedicated and professional staff, a beautiful, green setting with lots of space (including a forest school) and a creative, broad and balanced curriculum.
Our school has a reputation for strong and inclusive SEND provision with a dedicated teaching and support team, including two full time SEN Support Workers, who think outside of the box to engage and support pupils. This is an exciting opportunity to embed our SEND and nurture provision further and the successful candidate will join a committed leadership team and make a significant contribution to the strategic oversight of SEND teaching and nurture support.
We can offer:
- A caring and supportive whole school family which is culturally diverse and inclusive.
- A committed team of SEND and nurture support staff.
- First class resources and environment.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect everyone to share this commitment. This post requires applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post. All users are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed. Keeping our pupils safe is our first priority. We follow safer recruitment practices as per KCSIE and will rigorously take up and check references and carry out an internet check as per guidance
