QUEST Academy Trust is seeking an exceptional Expert SENDCo to join our primary team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and influence SEND provision within a nurturing, ambitious and inclusive school community where every child matters.

About the Role

As our Expert SENDCo, you will be at the heart of ensuring high-quality provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Working closely with school leaders, teachers, families and external agencies, you will champion inclusive practice, drive positive outcomes and support staff in delivering exceptional learning experiences for all pupils.

This is a pivotal role for an experienced SEND leader who can combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and who is committed to removing barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the primary school.
  • Ensure statutory responsibilities are met in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve outcomes for pupils with SEND.
  • Work collaboratively with families, external agencies and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Coach, support and challenge staff to deliver high-quality inclusive teaching.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions and provision.
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement and the Trust’s inclusive vision.
About You

We are looking for someone who:

✅ Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

✅ Has substantial experience working with children with SEND in a primary setting

✅ Has completed the National Award for SEN Coordination

✅ Demonstrates excellent knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCP processes and inclusive practice

✅ Has strong leadership, communication and organisational skills

✅ Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

✅ Is passionate about ensuring every child succeeds, regardless of need or starting point
