Salary: Grade 5 Pay Point 7-8 (£25,191 - £25,590, approx. starting salary £14,562.58 working 25 hours per week)
Hours: 25 hours a week, 39 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent
Working pattern: Monday to Friday- 07:00am to 09:00am & 03:00pm - 06:00pm

We are a successful, friendly school set in beautiful grounds on the edge of Market Harborough. Our school environment has been developed with two additional classrooms that were completed in February 2013 and an additional 7 new classrooms, a new hall and a refurbished administration area and school entrance completed in 2018. We have also installed a brand-new library thanks to funds raised by our own PTA and support from the local Market Harborough charity ‘Howard Watson Symington Memorial Charity’. We are a Microsoft Showcase school, sharing good practice through this global network.

Discovery Extended Services provides Wraparound Care and Holiday Camp provisions across our Primary schools. We are excited to be recruiting for a range of new roles that will be based within the central Discovery Trust Extended Services Team, to further develop our current and future provision model. We have excellent staff benefits and a commitment to training and supporting the right candidates.
Discovery’s aim is to ensure children that attend our Extended Services provisions are provided with an opportunity to engage in activities both indoors and outdoors, while being cared for by trusted and engaging adults. We know that providing high quality and engaging environments support the holistic wellbeing and learning for each child, which will encourage children to have a healthy body and a healthy mind. Being healthy and having access to physical and creative activities boosts children’s self-esteem and confidence and supports the development of life skills such as independence, resilience, and the ability to attend to their learning.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
- To maintain a duty of care for all children that attend the Extended Services Wraparound Care
- To establish and maintain positive relationships with children and Extended Services provision teams.
- To maintain communication with the Extended Services Support Lead, and Deputy Lead.
- To provide care and encouragement to children and young people with disabilities or special educational needs, supporting them to participate in activities and liaising, if required, with parents / carers / other professionals as appropriate.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Ideal candidates will have experience of working with children and be committed to providing our pupils with a safe and enjoyable childcare environment.
- Experience of working with children in a play, childcare or out of school setting is essential.
- Level 2 NVQ or CACHE or working towards is desirable.
- Ability to create and inspirational and stimulating child centred play and care environment.
- Excellent communication (written & oral) and interaction skills with child, parents and colleagues
