Radbrook Primary School is situated in the south of Shrewsbury and is a larger than average sized primary school, which opened in 1989. Most pupils are White British, and the proportion of pupils from minority ethnic backgrounds is broadly average. A small number of these pupils have English as an additional language. The proportion of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities is around average. The number of children known to be eligible for free school meals is below the national average.
The school is a very popular and oversubscribed school in Shrewsbury. The pupils from the school mainly transition to The Priory and Meole Brace Secondary schools, with which the school has excellent transition relationships.
The school has a busy Parents Association who work closely with the school which is an important part of the local community. Radbrook is positioned close to the South of Shropshire and children are very quickly in a rural setting after a short journey from the school to the Shropshire hills.
The school is part of the Severn Bridges Multi-Academy Trust along with Mount Pleasant Primary and Greenfields Primary Schools. The Trust was formed in March 2017 and has around 1000 children across the three schools. Our Trust and school has shared values and aims centred around developing the whole child through an exciting, imaginative curriculum which builds on our children’s key life skills alongside high quality teaching. Through close collaboration at all levels across the schools – children, staff and governors - Radbrook provides and receives support, skills, knowledge and experience and we value greatly the benefits of collaborative working within a supportive and exciting Trust. All the schools work closely together but retain their own character and unique selling points.
