Qualifications
- Qualified teacher status (E)
- Completion of ECT programme (E)
- Evidence of further professional study in relation to pupils with special needs. (D)
Experience
- Minimum of 2 consecutive years of classroom teaching experience in either mainstream or special schools. (E)
- Experience of working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs. (E)
- Experience working collaboratively with a multi professional team including SLT, OT, PT. (D)
Knowledge
- Proven ability in teaching and adapting the curriculum effectively for pupils with a range of strengths and needs (E)
- Knowledge & experience of devising/monitoring learning programmes, assessment, recording and reporting. (E)
- Experience of teaching and assessing using the EYFS curriculum. (E)
- Understanding of using a trauma informed approach. (D)
Specific Skills
- The ability to teach, assess and advise. (E)
- The ability to work within a multidisciplinary setting and establish trusting relationships within the team. (E)
- The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form. (E)
- Sound knowledge of ICT and how to use it to drive forward pupil progress. (E)
- The ability to provide training and guidance in meeting the needs of SEND learners to school settings / teachers (D)

- Enthusiasm for developing knowledge and skills in working with pupils with acquired brain injury and their families (E)
