What skills and experience we're looking for

“What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God” Micah 6:8

Teacher (Main Pay Scale 1–6) Permanent, Full-time

Holy Trinity CE Primary School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Early Years / Key Stage 1 teacher to join our supportive and caring staff team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about early learning, language development and building strong foundations for children at the start of their education. This is a rare opportunity, as staff retention at Holy Trinity is strong and vacancies arise infrequently. We are particularly interested in appointing an Early Career Teacher, though applications are also welcome from teachers currently on the Main Pay Scale (M1–M6).

Holy Trinity is a Church of England primary school serving a diverse community. We are an inclusive school and welcome applications from candidates of any faith or none, though all applicants must be sympathetic to our Christian values and ethos. Our children are well behaved, kind and keen to learn, and relationships across the school are strong, creating a calm and purposeful environment for teaching and learning. The successful candidate will understand the importance of early language, phonics and play-based learning, and will be able to create a warm, engaging classroom where young children feel safe, confident and excited to learn.

Our work is underpinned by our school values of Family, Respect, Encouragement, Trust, Excellence and Fairness. We are looking for someone who shares these values and demonstrates them consistently in their practice and professional relationships.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an effective and reflective Early Years / Key Stage 1 practitioner
  • Understands how young children learn through play, exploration and talk
  • Has a strong understanding of early phonics and language development
  • Has high expectations for every child’s progress and wellbeing
  • Builds warm, positive relationships with young children and their families
  • Works well as part of a team and is keen to develop their practice

What the school offers its staff

We can offer:

  • Well behaved, motivated children who enjoy learning
  • A supportive, collaborative staff team
  • Strong support and mentoring for Early Career Teachers
  • A clear commitment to staff wellbeing
  • The opportunity to work in a school that makes a meaningful difference for its community
