Are you an inspirational and enthusiastic English or Maths lead, Phase leader or EYFS/KS1 Teacher looking for a new challenge? Do you have the teaching skills and personality required to motivate and energise pupils? Are you passionate about the Primary curriculum and helping pupils to achieve their full potential?
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, highly organised and excellent English or Maths Lead and EYFS/KS1 Phase Lead to join our friendly and supportive Primary Phase, who will drive English or Maths across the Primary Phase and lead EYFS/KS1. The successful candidate will be capable of inspiring pupils through their passion for teaching and learning, and a desire to make a difference to pupil achievement. Due to Washwood Heath Academy being an All through Academy, there is potential to work with colleagues and pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4 to gain further subject specific development gain an understanding and be involved in how pupils develop and progress, and the skills needed on their transition into Key Stage 3.
To be part of the next stage of the school’s exciting journey, governors would like to appoint a successful EYFS/KS1 teacher to lead English or Maths, and EYFS/KS1 ensuring they can:
• Create an environment across the school where children are engaged with their writing and enjoy reading for pleasure or Maths throughout the curriculum.
• Monitor and evaluate the English or Maths curriculum, analysing data and moderation of assessments.
• Mentor and support colleagues through a solid understanding of the curriculum and good pedagogical practices.
• Contribute towards the vision for the school and its development plan as part of the MLT as a key stage leader.
KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
• To work in partnership with the Head Teacher and Head of Primary Phase as part of the Middle Leadership Team, in securing high quality English or Maths teaching and learning across the school. To lead EYFS / Key Stage 1.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• To fulfil the professional duties as specified in the Teachers Pay and Conditions Document.
• To lead English or Maths.
• To lead EYFS & KS1.
Main requirements:
• To be an excellent classroom practitioner
• Have good English/Maths subject knowledge
• To be able to analyse and interpret data
• Experience of teaching in EYFS / Key Stage 1
• Understanding of phonics and early reading
• Good sense of humour
• Committed and enthusiastic
• Understanding to of KS2 statutory testing for English or Maths.

Washwood Heath Academy is a relatively new All Through Academy (Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form) in the East of Birmingham.
