St. Gregory’s is situated in the northern coastal town of Workington and is currently in its 46th year serving the local community. Workington is very close to the beautiful Lake District National Park.
In September 2022, St Gregory’s joined the Mater Christi Trust, a Trust of 13 schools across the Diocese. All Catholic Schools in the Lancaster area and Cumbria will be joining the Mater Christi Trust in the next five years. The new Headteacher will join the 13 current Heads in developing our Trust as it grows.
St Gregory’s has a rich history of educating generations of local families. There are currently 207 students on roll and 30 staff. The school’s ethos of “growing, living and learning together in faith" is lived each day in every aspect of school life, from morning prayers, through the curriculum and in the way we care for our students and our staff.
The school has high quality, enthusiastic staff who are committed to the Vision and to the children.
St Gregory’s shares a Local Governing Body with Our Lady and St Patrick’s in Maryport and the schools work closely together.
