The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent Early Years practitioner, skilled in delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate teaching and learning.
  • Understand the importance of a rich curriculum, purposeful play and high-quality interactions. They will have a proven ability to secure strong outcomes for all children, including those with SEND, ensuring every child makes excellent progress from their unique starting points.
  • Hold high expectations for every child, rooted in the belief that all children can thrive, achieve and flourish when provided with the right balance of nurture, challenge and high-quality early learning experiences. They will understand the importance of early language, early reading, and the foundations of mathematics in shaping future success.
  • Share our conviction in the transformative power of Early Years education, recognising its critical role in building confident, curious, resilient and independent learners. They will understand how secure early foundations support children to become aspirational young people who are ready for the next stage of their learning and life.
  • Demonstrate highly effective behaviour management, grounded in warm, responsive relationships, co-regulation and the development of children’s self-regulation skills. Their practice will reflect the school’s Christian values of responsibility, resilience and kindness, modelling positive interactions and supporting children to develop empathy, respect and emotional literacy.
  • Work collaboratively as part of our hardworking, talented and friendly EYFS and whole-school team, contributing positively to our inclusive, nurturing and joyful school community. They will help create an environment where children feel welcomed, valued and valuable, and where families are active partners in their child’s learning journey.
