JOB DESCRIPTION

This role requires you to carry out the duties and responsibilities of a Class Teacher as set out in the current School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions Document. As Class Teacher at Prestwood Village Schools, you will be expected to carry the points below .

Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom;

Implement agreed school policies and guidance;

Promote independence in learning and a Growth Mindset amongst our pupils;

Support teaching and learning initiatives introduced by the Head Teacher and other members of the SLT;

Plan and deliver high quality and creative learning experiences that will motivate, challenge and stretch all pupils;

Meet the individual educational needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, through quality first teaching, using appropriate differentiation as necessary;

Create a safe and positive learning environment by managing pupils’ behaviour effectively, in accordance with the school's behaviour policy;

Keep appropriate and accurate records of formative and summative assessment to inform planning;

Work with school leaders to track the progress of individual children and intervene where pupils are not making progress;

Report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of pupils;

Participate in meetings which relate to the school's management, curriculum, administration or organisation;

Communicate and co-operate with specialists from outside agencies;

Lead, organise and direct support staff within the classroom;

Reflect on your own teaching practice and demonstrate commitment to CPD and school improvement;

Participate in the performance management system for the appraisal of your own performance, or that of other teachers.
