What skills and experience we're looking for
Allens Croft Primary School is a diverse, fully inclusive two-form entry school, with three Resource Base classes, set in extensive grounds in the Kings Heath area of Birmingham. We are looking to an experienced early years practitioner who is committed to join our team.
Are you interested in becoming a teacher but want to gain more experience working with children? We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Graduate Teaching Assistant to work within our Reception unit. This is an amazing opportunity for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, unique school from September 2026 as we journey together to improve opportunities and outcomes for our children and staff so that we can all be the best that we can be.
We would like to recruit a teaching assistant who:
- Has experience of working within a primary school setting, particularly within the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Has a secure understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which includes observations, assessment, adult facilitation, independent learning and setting up the environment
- Has excellent behaviour management and engagement skills
- Builds positive relationships and is a role model for the children they support
- Has high expectations of pupils and themselves
- Is able to work closely with, and values the contribution of parents/carers
- Is committed to ongoing learning and development
- Supports the aspirational ethos of the school and is passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential
