What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking someone who:

    • Holds a relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare or supporting teaching and learning.
    • Has proven experience working in an EYFS setting, including supporting children with additional needs.
    • Understands how young children learn and can support early communication, language and play-based learning.
    • Can confidently deliver small group interventions and contribute to planning and assessment.
    • Builds strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
    • Is enthusiastic, proactive and committed to creating a positive and purposeful learning environment.
  • As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:
    • Work closely with the class teacher and phase leader to plan and deliver an engaging curriculum that ensures high standards of learning and attainment.
    • Lead targeted interventions, track progress, and set clear goals to enhance pupil achievement.
    • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all children.
    • Supervise and lead pre-prepared activities during short-term teacher absences.
    • Play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.

We are delighted to be expanding our Nursery provision from September 2025 and are excited to be recruiting a new part-time Teaching Assistant to support this growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and nurturing Early Years practitioner to join a warm, inclusive school community and make a real difference at this crucial stage in a child’s development.

At Horsenden Primary School, you will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS Phase Leader to support high-quality provision, ensuring every child is given the best possible start to their learning journey.
