What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team, working within our Reception classes. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with strong experience in Early Years education who is passionate about supporting young children at the start of their school journey.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Work closely with the class teacher to support learning across the EYFS curriculum
- Provide targeted interventions, including phonics using the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised scheme
- Support children within whole-class teaching, small groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Recognise and respond to the growing range of special educational needs (SEN) within the reception cohort
- Play an active role in shaping a stimulating Reception environment, that maximises learning opportunities through high‑quality continuous provision
- Actively engage with the children within the environment, to promote their learning and development.
- Assist with observations, assessments and record‑keeping to support children’s progress
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience working in a reception class
- Has a good understanding of EYFS development, early reading and phonics
- Has experience delivering or supporting phonics interventions.
- Demonstrates a strong awareness of SEN, including speech and language needs, ASD, and social, emotional and mental health needs
- Is patient, caring, flexible and works well as part of a team
- Has excellent communication skills with children, staff and parents

We are a two-form entry infant school which takes children from Reception to Year 2. Our children are well behaved and motivated to learn and our staff work together as a supportive team. We teach creatively using a cross-curricular approach.
