to hold NVQ level 2/3 in Early Years Childcare/equivalent or willingness to work towards,

to have experience of planning and assessment,

to have experience in planning and grouping for effective differentiation of teaching

to have the ability to establish and review targets

to have the ability to relate to, and work with, others as members of a team

to have good ICT skills

to have good spoken and written communication skills

to have effective behaviour management strategies

to have a good knowledge of teaching and learning styles appropriate for young children

to have the ability to relate well to children and adults,

to have the ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to teaching,

able to use initiative

to be able to evaluate own practice and the effectiveness of the setting to ensure progression

to work well as a member of an established team
