The Role

Drayton Park School is looking for a Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator to join our warm and welcoming school community. You’ll be the friendly, helpful face who ensures our premises are clean, safe, secure and fit for learning every day. If you take pride in hands-on work, problem-solving, and creating an inviting environment, this is the role for you.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining clean, safe and secure school premises, including all buildings and grounds
  • Carrying out maintenance, handyperson activities, routine upkeep, refurbishment, porterage, repairs and cleaning
  • Project management and supervision of external contractors, obtaining quotes and overseeing works to guarantee high standards
  • Perform day-to-day security and upkeep of buildings, fixtures, fittings, grounds, plant and machinery.
  • Act as main key holder: lock/unlock premises, set alarms, monitor CCTV and respond to callouts.
  • Conduct statutory checks (fire alarms, PAT testing, legionella, play equipment) and maintain inspection logs
  • Champion health and safety best practices; ensure contractors and visitors comply with protocols
  • Identify opportunities for sustainable site improvements aligned with our Climate Action Plan
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with colleagues, external professionals and neighbouring schools
  • Embrace new challenges and adapt to evolving school needs with a helpful, can-do attitude
