FACILITIES MANAGER
M1 (Point 28 - 31) = £40,444 - £43,149 per annum
Full Time - 37 Hours Per Week
Governors wish to appoint a dedicated and professional Facilities Manager who will share their commitment of maintaining and developing an outstanding learning environment, for the pupils and staff.
Principal duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the school premises team, including supervision, performance and staff development.
- Oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance, cleanliness and security of the school site.
- Lead and coordinate premises-related projects, contracts and maintenance programmes.
- Manage contractors and external providers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Develop, implement and monitor short and long-term premises development and site maintenance plans.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, statutory requirements and school policies.
- Manage premises-related budgets, ensuring resources are used efficiently and cost-effectively.
The successful candidate(s) will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Proven experience in premises, facilities or a similar management role, including staff line management.
- Sound knowledge of premises management, health and safety, COSHH and statutory compliance.
- Experience of using IT systems for premises management, health and safety monitoring and reporting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, support and develop staff.
- Ability to use initiative, work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Highly organised, with strong planning, project management and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a positive approach to changing operational demands and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
