Facilities Manager job summary
West SILC
Working in partnership to make a difference
West SILC caters for pupils between the ages of 2 and 19 with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, on specialist sites and in mainstream partnership schools. We are recruiting a Facilities Manager to provide comprehensive operational facilities management across each of our six sites (and numerous buildings).
The Facilities Manager will be the first point of contact for premises and health & safety related queries and will form part of the wider Facilities team. The Facilities Manager will maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors and hirers of school facilities and manage a budget for buildings, maintenance and health & safety. The Facilities Manager will also be responsible for the school vehicles and cleaning contract staff.
Working closely with our Business Leader you will develop a vision for our sites that will ensure that pupils have access to enriching environments that meet their physical and sensory needs alongside their learning goals.
The qualities we are looking for include:
- Ability to manage the facilities team and service, ensuring work is allocated and completed within expected timescales
- Ability to manage contractors and projects
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with all stakeholders of the school community
- Excellent IT skills
- Confident decision maker
- Practical, flexible and innovative approach to work

The successful candidate will be expected to work across our range of sites, therefore a full driving license is required.
