Faculty Director for Humanities job summary
From January 2023, we wish to appoint an experienced History Teacher to become our Director of Faculty for Humanities.
As Director of Faculty you will be responsible for the operational delivery of the strategic plan within the faculty and will ensure a quality provision and a suitable curriculum development to aid the learner experience.
You will need to develop a strong identity and purpose within the faculty that will both appeal strongly to learners and will motivate staff so that the highest standards are attained.
We are an ambitious and friendly 11-16 Academy situated in a very pleasant area on the borders of North Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire. NOR: 557.
As a school we have a new and ambitious Senior Leadership team that is fully committed to raising standards and promoting a lifelong love of learning.
We want to create excellent citizens in an atmosphere of warmth and compassion, where no child is left behind.
The Humanities curriculum is a vital way of creating these well-rounded and knowledgeable young people.
We are committed to ensuring that all that we do impacts positively on our pupils’ experiences and are dedicated to ensuring that all pupils reach their potential and leave us with not only their personal best in terms of academic results but also fully equipped to lead full and happy lives.
The Faculty Director of Humanities has the full support of the Senior Leadership Team in its pursuit of excellence.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner (QTS status).
- Have a passion for leading learning.
- Have proven experience of maximising student outcomes at all levels.
- Seek out and develop exciting and stimulating resources
- Be a strategic thinker with clear views on the direction and development of science.
- Have excellent ICT skills.
- Play an active part a in whole school development.

A Disclosure Barring Service (Enhanced DBS) check will be carried out for successful applicants for posts that involve contact with children and/or vulnerable adults and are considered to be ‘exempt’ under the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
