Families and Safeguarding Officer job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Family and Safeguarding Officer to work as part of our busy safeguarding team, supporting the effective operation of the Academy’s safeguarding service on a day-to- day basis. The post holder will act as a contact for any safeguarding, child protection and attendance concerns, providing timely, relevant support and advice to safeguard our children, making external referrals to a range of agencies, as and when appropriate. They will be responsible for promoting safeguarding and attendance to families, children and staff within the Academy, including providing high quality safeguarding and attendance tracking and next steps.
Applications are encouraged from candidates with previous experience of working with children and families and dealing with complex safeguarding and child protection issues. The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant attendance, safeguarding/child protection policies, procedures and legislation and be able to apply these effectively in practice and disseminate to others. The ability to build and maintain good relationships and communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues and external agencies is essential.
