Co-op Academy Brownhill is a large primary school situated in East Leeds and forms part of the Co-op Academies Trust. Brownhill is an inspiring place to work and learn and, as part of the Co-op Academies Trust, aim to secure excellence in all aspects of its work.
We’re looking for a resilient, determined and proactive individual to join our school to take on the important role of, family support lead and deputy designated safeguarding lead, The right candidate will work alongside the safeguarding team and the attendance team and Trust in helping pupils and families who require support to overcome barriers to learning and attending school. The main role will be to support families and pupils and to overcome barriers and help improve attendance but this will also involve stepping into the role of DDSL when the current DDSL and DSL are not in school.
As part of the role you will support the Academy in improving safeguarding provision and attendance for all pupils as well as running Early Help for families in need. You will be able to build excellent relationships with families and consider the best possible options to support families. You will liaise with outside agencies in order to reach the right support and also be able to signpost families to alternative support. You will support in the effective running and facilitation of the walking bus as well as the successful induction of new families into the academy. You will be given in-house training, provided by the Trust attendance team and safeguarding lead and become proficient in detailed recording using CPOM’s and responding to concerns raised by staff and families about pupils attendance.

You will need:
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent qualifications.
- Previous primary school experience.
- A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
- The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
- A can-do attitude.
- A commitment to the happiness, well-being, positive self-esteem and developing progress of everyone at the school.
- Driving licence and vehicle to enable home visits
