What skills and experience we're looking for

SEMH Teaching Assistant

Important qualities in our new Teaching Assistant:

  • Enthusiastic and calm under pressure
  • Ability to build quick relationships with children
  • Be resilient
  • Have an understanding of the barriers that SEMH needs can pose for children with their learning
  • Be adaptable and able to think on your feet in challenging situations with excellent communication skills.
  • Know how to use a range of interventions that will support children to develop the skills necessary to manage their emotions
  • A keenness to work with external professionals to support our most vulnerable children

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs

  • Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or a related field (desirable)

We are seeking an exceptional Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs on a one to one and small group basis.
