Family Support Worker and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) job summary

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and supporting children to overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will work closely with students, families, school staff and a range of external agencies to ensure that pupils receive the support they need both in school and at home.

The role will involve supporting families through early help processes, safeguarding support, attendance monitoring, family engagement and coordinating interventions that promote positive outcomes for pupils. You will build strong relationships with families, provide guidance and signposting to support services, and work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals to ensure the wellbeing and success of every student.

You will also play a key role in supporting pupil attendance, reintegration following absence, emotional wellbeing support, and facilitating communication between the school and families. The successful candidate will be organised, approachable and committed to supporting children and families. Experience working with young people, families or within education, social care, youth work or community services would be highly beneficial.
