Dual role for Family Support Worker and ELSA
Salary: Grade 8 Pay Point 15-18 (£27,726 - £30,065 per annum, approximate starting salary of £17,304)
Hours: 27 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern:
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday - 08:30am- 03:20pm (inclusive of 1 hour unpaid lunch)
Tuesday and Friday - 08:30am- 02:30pm (inclusive of 1 hour unpaid lunch)
About the Role
Greystoke Primary School are looking to appoint someone to provide support for vulnerable pupils referred by the SENCo and EPIC team in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- To provide support for pupils with behavioural, social, emotional and / or psychological difficulties that affect or are likely to affect, learning and engagement with education at schools within the Discovery Schools Academies Trust group and beyond
- To work with pupils to help them to remove or reduce barriers to achievement
- To communicate and work with pupil parents and carers to help them remove or reduce barriers to pupil achievement and to keep them informed, as appropriate, for the duration of sessions
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- BTEC Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Educational Studies or equivalent
- Good Literacy and Numeracy GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Evidence of further accreditations/ qualifications in the area of BESD, Social Skills, SEND
- Social work, youth work, community work, or mentoring qualification and or experience
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Family Support Worker
- A minimum of 3 years working experience as a level 3 Teaching Assistant or above in an educational setting
- Effective working with Primary aged children/young people and their families
- Experience of supporting children with identified additional needs, including emotional, social and behavioural difficulties
- Contributing to, implementing and reporting on Behaviour Plans, Individual Target Plans or IEP’s
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of child protection and health and safety procedures.
- An understanding of the range of support services/providers available for parent/children
- Ability and willingness to undertake professional development.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively with and command the confidence of teaching and non-teaching staff

Greystoke Primary School is a Good-rated school based in Narborough: a large village and civil parish in the Blaby district of Leicestershire, located around 6 miles south-west of Leicester. Our school enjoys the quiet of a small suburb whilst being well -connected to Leicester City with Fosse Park being a short car ride away.
The school has an extensive range of facilities and include: extensive grounds with a large woodland area, exciting play areas which include sports equipment and play spaces suitable for different ages. The school also boasts an on-site swimming pool that children in EYFS through to Year 4 swim every week.
