Finance and HR Administrator job summary

Reporting to our Hub Business Manager, we are looking to appoint a dedicated Finance & HR Officer to join our friendly and talented team to help support our finance and HR services to be as effective and efficient as possible for the benefit of our schools.

Supporting our Spire Hub Schools, you will be required to work across two primary schools spending two days at Shrewton CE Primary School and one day at Whitesheet CE Primary Academy.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the school teams, being responsible for the efficient and timely processing of purchase orders and invoices, and routine monthly reconciliations. You will also support our Hub Business Manager with budgeting and financial reporting. Alongside you will assist and support the Headteacher with the administration of personnel records and data and offer an effective HR administrative support service, always ensuring confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the financial procedures of both schools.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Process invoices, payments, and payroll efficiently.
  • Assist with HR-related tasks and ensure adherence to health and safety legislation and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support and handle general office duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a finance role, preferably within a busy school environment.
  • Strong knowledge of finance procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in word processing and IT skills.
  • Familiarity with HR and health and safety legislation and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
