Finance Assistant job summary
PolyMAT is a small but ambitious Multi-Academy Trust with a unique family feel and a clear vision: “Success for Everyone.” We currently comprise three schools:
- Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys - a long-established and successful boys’ school
- Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls - opened in 2019 and has quickly become a beacon for success and progress

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Central Finance Team. Working alongside the current Finance Assistant and reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide essential financial support to meet the needs of our schools. This is a busy and varied role that requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Requirements:
- A strong finance background
- Experience in school finance and purchase ledger (essential)
- Knowledge of IRIS Finance system (desirable - training provided if needed)
- Ability to work confidently under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
- Flexible, hardworking, and committed to delivering high standards
