Finance Assistant (Apprentice) job summary

37 hours per week term time only plus 5 PD Days

Salary: National Apprenticeship hourly rates (dependent upon age)

Start Date: to be confirmed

This is a fixed‑term position in the first instance, with the intention to become permanent upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. The role is also subject to a six‑month probationary period.

What are we looking for?

Join Ludlow Church of England School as a apprentice Finance Assistant, supporting the school to operate efficiently and enabling the classroom staff to focus on providing the best possible education for our students.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who is keen to develop skills in a finance role. A willingness to learn and work as part of the team is essential. You will have good organisational, timekeeping and ICT skills. You will possess a calm and positive telephone manner.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent numeracy skills and a strong eye for detail. The role includes responsibilities such as processing invoices, maintaining financial ledgers, ensuring best‑value purchasing, and administering lettings, with occasional cash‑handling duties. The successful applicant must also be willing to work towards an appropriate qualification as part of the apprenticeship.
