Finance Assistant job summary

Are you positive and enthusiastic with excellent financial and administrative skills and looking to be part of a friendly and professional school office team?

If so, we would love to hear from you!

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and well-organised Finance Assistant. This role, which is 15 hours per week, term-time only, can be completed during school hours on any day apart from a Monday.

The successful applicant will be able to work using their own initiative to provide finance support to the School Business Manager, with specific responsibility for payroll, ordering and invoicing. You will need to have a friendly and positive attitude, be tenacious and enjoy working as part of a team. Life in a primary school is always busy, and so our ideal person is someone who is happy to help out with whatever needs doing to support staff, parents, and children.

Financial experience, strong Excel skills, numeracy skills and an eye for detail is essential, and whilst experience of school office procedures would be desirable, we will provide training for the right candidate.

What we offer:

  • A professional and friendly office team
  • Competitive salary
  • A commitment to professional development
  • A collaborative and supportive working environment
  • Flexible working possibilities
