Finance Assistant job summary

The Finance Assistant is accountable to the Finance Manager and will work with the rest of the finance team to provide an efficient and accurate finance service to all school stakeholders.

Contract

15 hours per week

Term time only (38 weeks)

Start date 05/01/2025

Duties

Processing supplier invoices for approval and assisting staff with approvals via the finance portal.

Monthly reconciliation of the school’s public, private and enterprises bank accounts

Entry of cash and cheques onto the banking spreadsheet

Entering and removing meal allowances on the impact/ fusion system

Monitoring the O2 mobile phones, fire alarm sims and lift sims

Overall management of documents for minibuses

Maintaining a record of financial aspects of gym memberships

Jointly monitoring the general ‘accounts’ email address

Assisting with general parentpay enquiries

Being conversant with the general principles of taxation/ VAT applicable to the School.

Assisting with the maintenance of a suitable system of financial archives.

Dealing with general internal and external finance enquiries.

Requirements

Highly organised, team player

A high level of efficiency and accuracy

Bookkeeping or financial experience
