Finance Manager job summary

Due to continued growth, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced, self-motivated Finance Manager to join our Central Finance Team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the Senior Finance Manager in the key areas of payroll, financial management and business operations across our Multi-Academy Trust.

Working Hours: Part-time - (30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 43 weeks per year). Location: Hybrid (see below for details). Required: February/March 2026

Our Central Finance Team operates a hybrid working arrangement. Initially, the role will be based in either Clarendon Academy or Kingdown School, for at least two days per week. Once full training and induction have taken place, the requirement to be office-based will be reduced.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the monthly payroll, ensuring information is processed accurately
  • Preparation and submission of statutory reports to HMRC and pension providers
  • Supporting the Senior Finance Manager with month end routines
  • Monitoring budgets at department and school level and providing support to budget holders
  • Ensuring compliance with the Trust’s Finance Regulations Manual and Academy Trust Handbook


We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience as a finance professional and is looking for a new exciting role
  • Has or is working towards an accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Has experience of using integrated finance systems
  • Has the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Is ambitious and has the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Has good attention to detail and the ability to streamline processes and procedures
  • Is an excellent communicator who is confident in dealing with people at all levels
  • Has a positive and flexible attitude
