Finance Officer job summary

Aston Community Education Trust are a forward thinking and ambitious multi-academy trust, comprising of three secondary academies and nine junior academies across the Rotherham, Sheffield and north Derbyshire areas.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and effective Finance Officer who will be based initially at our Swinton Academy with a wider requirement to work across all our Senior Academies (Swinton, Shirebrook and Aston) as and when need arises. This role will attract individuals with previous professional finance experience or equivalent.

The post holder will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with both the central finance team and school communities. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with the ability work to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

The post holder will -

  • Be responsible for providing finance and administration support including raising purchase orders, processing of invoices, reconciling accounts.
  • Be the first point of contact for any finance queries.
  • Have outstanding organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
  • Have excellent IT skills including experience working with SIMS, Access and Excel and Word
