Finance Officer Maternity Cover job summary
We are seeking an organised, proactive and motivated finance professional to join our friendly central finance team at our Head Office in Folkestone from November 2026 on a maternity cover contract.
This is a senior finance role with responsibility for supporting Finance Assistants, overseeing month-end processes, preparing management accounts and budget monitoring reports, and providing financial advice and support to school leaders across our Trust. The postholder will play a key role in helping schools manage their finances effectively, ensuring compliance with the Academy Trust Handbook and supporting strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will have strong accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders. They must demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, confidentiality and a positive, solution-focused approach. An AAT qualification is preferred, and experience of Access Finance would be advantageous.
We are a small, supportive central team serving 18 primary schools across the Diocese of Canterbury, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across a diverse and collaborative Trust.
