Landau Forte Academy Amington is seeking a dedicated and compassionate First Aid/Medical Officer to join our supportive pastoral and safeguarding teams. This is a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our students on a day-to-day basis.

Holds a recognised first aid qualification (or is willing to undertake training).

Has experience in a first-aid, medical, school, or healthcare setting.

Is calm, patient, and confident in responding to emergencies.

Understands safeguarding responsibilities and confidentiality.

Is organised, accurate, and able to maintain essential documentation.

Communicates effectively with young people, staff, and families.

Demonstrates empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to student wellbeing.

Job description

Provide immediate and effective first aid to students and staff during the school day.

Manage ongoing medical conditions, care plans, and medication in line with statutory requirements.

Maintain the academy’s medical room, supplies, and first-aid equipment.

Keep accurate records of all medical incidents, care plans, and medication logs.

Liaise with parents/carers regarding injuries, illnesses, or medical updates.

Support the safeguarding team where health issues overlap with student wellbeing.

Assist with risk assessments for students with medical needs and for school events/trips.

Promote good health, hygiene, and wellbeing across the academy
