Salary Scale: Scale 1a, Pts 2-3 (£24,413 -£24,796) FTE

What does a Teaching Assistant do?

In a nutshell, you will be part of a team working across the age range to provide essential support. You are there to help children access the curriculum, develop their independence, and ensure their physical, social, and emotional needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils with personal care programmes (hygiene, eating, mobility) to encourage independence

Assist in delivering activities for individuals or small groups to help them reach their full potential.

Adhere to all policies and maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive environment.

Help prepare resources, supervise lunch/break times, and maintain learning equipment

Observe and record achievements, providing feedback to teachers to support pupil development

Qualifications: GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths

Experience: Previous experience working within an educational setting is essential; experience with SEND pupils is highly valued
