We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Food & Nutrition Technician to join our thriving Creative and Technology Faculty at The Romsey School.

In this vital role, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging, high-quality food and nutrition lessons, maintain an outstanding learning environment, and help inspire the next generation of chefs, nutritionists, and food scientists. While your primary focus will be the Food & Nutrition department, there will be opportunities to support the wider Creative and Technical Faculty when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a safe, effective and efficient technical service for the Food & Nutrition department.
  • Provide hands-on support in lessons, assisting students and staff with practical activities.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met, including the completion of risk assessments and equipment checks.
  • Contribute positively to the wider ethos and aims of The Romsey School.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Food Technician, or a willingness to learn and develop in the role.
  • Solid subject knowledge with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and enriching the educational experience of all students.

Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Why Join Us?

At The Romsey School, we are committed to supporting and developing our staff. Our June 2023 OFSTED report (graded ‘Good’) praises the school’s supportive leadership and strong sense of community.

We offer:

  • A comprehensive CPD programme and regular professional learning opportunities
  • A strong focus on well-being, with access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
  • ‘Cycle to work’ scheme, free flu vaccinations, and eye care vouchers
  • Discounted lunches from our excellent in-house kitchen
  • On-site nursery (Little Sunlights) with staff discounts
  • Free staff car parking
  • Opportunities to get involved in school life: student leadership, DofE, sports clubs, trips abroad and more

Learn Together at The Romsey School – where staff and students thrive in a supportive and inspiring environment.
