What skills and experience we're looking for
Essential
- Good standard of education especially with regard to literacy and numeracy skills.
- GCSE Maths and English grade C or equivalent
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to work with school-based systems and specified timelines
- Knowledge of the practices and procedures relating to working with food.
- Knowledge of safe food storage and handling.
- Understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace.
- Ability to use office computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet systems
- Knowledge of the practices and procedures relating to working with food.
Desirable
- SIMS management information system
- Previous experience in an educational environment

Arnold Hill Spencer Academy are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and enthusiastic, full time, Food Technician to support the continuing improvement of this large and successful faculty. As a Food Technician, you will play a vital role in enhancing the learning environment for students studying Food Technology. Your responsibilities will include providing support and assistance to the food teaching staff, preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment in the food technology classrooms. You will be joining a forward looking and dynamic team which is warm and friendly, but which has high expectations of everyone.
