Contract term: Permanent

Contract type: 19.5 hours per week – Term time +INSET days
Working Pattern: Monday, Tuesday & Friday – Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm
Salary: Scale 3 Point 5 – 6
Actual Salary: £11658 - £11994 pa (inc. fringe)
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly organised Food Technician to join the Food Technology & Nutrition department.
The role will provide support to the food department, duties to include the preparation and support of practical lessons, as well as the organisation and maintenance of specialist equipment and resources.

The specific roles and responsibilities of the food technician are:
- To be responsible for preparing and checking online orders for the department and maintaining stock levels
- To ensure items are laundered where necessary and equipment cleaned after use
- To ensure all demonstration materials, equipment and provisions are available for use by the teaching staff. This includes the purchase of items from online or local retail outlets
- To carry out minor repairs and maintenance of kitchen equipment where possible and arrange for specialist outside companies to attend to more complex problems
- To give support to teachers in preparing theory work
- To maintain records for practical lessons
- To be available to assist with any problems that may arise in the department
