What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to hire a skilled and knowledgeable Food Technician to provide crucial support in the preparation and maintenance of resources for lessons. You will assist teachers and students, ensuring that all equipment is ready for use, contributing to a seamless learning environment within the Food Technology department. Your day-to-day assistance will be crucial in providing the help and encouragement students need to thrive in a supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Teacher in the Food Technology Department and, if required, in other areas of the school where food and cooking are taught or in areas where there is particular focus on functional skills.
• Support for pupils and students
• Administration and Management of Resources
• Preparation of materials and equipment for Food Technology lessons.
• Maintain Food Technology equipment, areas and services in good order.
Key Requirements:
• GCSE in English and Maths
• Experience in working with children with special needs
• Experience of supporting pupils and students to develop kitchen-related functional skills
• Experience of working as part of a team
• Ability to manage behaviour in the classroom
• Ability to organise and prioritise work and resources

St Dominic’s School is a special academy in Surrey and provides outstanding education for pupils and students aged 7-19 typically with a primary diagnosis of Speech Language & Communication Needs and/or Autistic Spectrum Condition. The school is located in Hambledon, close to Witley, Milford, Guildford and Godalming.
