Food Technician job summary

Duties of post include

Assisting the teaching staff in the preparation of materials and the assembly and organisation of equipment and resources for classroom use and school events such as Open Evenings etc.

Ensuring that the specialist food classrooms are well maintained, fully resourced and adequately stocked

Liaison with the site team as appropriate re any required repairs and maintenance to any of the food classrooms or related equipment to enable the smooth running of all lessons and activities

Conducting regular checks of all equipment in regular use and cleaning and maintaining it as appropriate, including daily laundry of tea towels, to assist in the smooth operation of practical lessons

The maintenance of departmental food and equipment stocks and the ordering, purchasing and weighing out of ingredients for use within school, e.g. ingredients provided for Pupil Premium students

Attendance at Faculty events and meetings as appropriate

Ensuring that Health and Safety guidelines are followed at all times in the food prep room and classrooms
