Food Technology Technician job summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain classrooms, equipment, and teaching materials for Food Technology lessons.
- Support teachers during practical sessions, demonstrations, and student activities.
- Maintain and carry out basic repairs to apparatus and arrange external servicing when needed.
- Manage stock control, order supplies, and maintain accurate records of materials and departmental expenditure.
- Handle and store food and materials safely, in line with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
- Provide administrative support including photocopying, displays, and photographing students work.
- Undertake first aid training and provide first aid as required.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for supporting creative, hands-on learning experiences.
- Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Understands the importance of health, safety, and hygiene in a food technology environment.
- Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with colleagues and pupils.
- Is proactive, reliable, and adaptable to meet the needs of a busy department.
- Experience in a similar technical, catering, or educational environment would be advantageous.
