Foreign Language Assistant (German) job summary
We are seeking a fluent German speaker to work with our A-level linguists in small groups. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our highly able and motivated students, who would greatly benefit from the chance to practise their language skills with a fluent speaker. The appointment would be on a casual basis for c.four hours per week throughout the School year, term-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct conversational practice sessions with A-level German students, focusing on improving their fluency, pronunciation, and confidence
- Provide valuable cultural insights and perspectives to enhance the students' understanding of the German-speaking world
- Collaborate with the Modern Languages department to support the delivery of the curriculum
- Assist with the preparation of students for oral examinations and competitions
Requirements:
- Native or near-native fluency in German
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A sympathetic manner and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team
- No previous teaching experience is necessary, but a keen interest in education is desirable
