Forest School Lead job summary

Martlesham Primary Academy is a lively and ambitious, welcoming school and we are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Forest School Lead. You will be working in a natural setting full of native trees and plants where children can explore, play and develop. This is a part-time position, and we are looking for successful individual to work 4 hours per week on a term-time only basis.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be passionate about outdoor learning.
  • Ideally level 3 Forest School trained or have knowledge of the Forest School ethos and its principles.
  • Have a good sense of humour, be child-centred, and happy to work outside in all weathers.
  • Be good at talking to children in a way that engages and values them, and promotes and extends their learning.
  • Understand the importance of keeping children safe and of helping create a safe environment.
  • Deliver the lesson plans.
  • Follow the children's lead and help inspire excitement in them.
  • Help set up and safety check the site.
